Zoe Maze Obituary

Zoe J. Maze, age 90, of Crestview, returned to the other side on Monday, July 13, 2026. Zoe was born in Marion, Ohio, December 31, 1935.

She attended school in Michigan and Virginia. Zoe is survived by her son and his wife, Mark and Teresa Sarlo of La Junta, Colorado; and sister-in-law, Joan Nichols of Richmond, Virginia; grandchild, Derek Sarlo and Wife Sarah with great-grandchildren Quinn and Gauge; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Linn Fitch; mother, Geneva Nichols; step-father, Col. Robert P. Nichols; father, Joel P. Riblet; brother, William R. Nichols; and special friend, James L. Welton.

Zoe retired from Buick Motor Division of General Motors Corporation in Flint, Michigan after 31 years as Labor Relations Supervisor and Hourly Personnel Administrator. She relocated to Niceville, Florida, with a final move to Crestview, Florida in 1994. She became an active volunteer in many organizations. She served as Records and Recognition Chairman of the American Red Cross at Eglin Air Force Base. She also became a National Disaster Services Volunteer and traveled to various disaster locations and also served as a disaster instructor while at the Red Cross. Zoe was a member of the Okaloosa Sheriffs SALT Organization. She served on the Board of the Abilities Center of Northwest Florida, and as a member of the Walton Country ARC. She was a passionate and loyal supporter of Pet Welfare at Eglin, AFB, PAWS, animal rights programs, other animal rescue groups and donated countless hours to the Special Olympics Program in Grand Blanc. Michigan. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Crestview, Florida.

At Zoe's request, no services will be held. Cremation has already taken place.

In lieu of flowers, cards or travel to pay final respects, Zoe requested donations to be made to any animal rescue organization or a donation of animal supplies to Pet Welfare at Eglin AFB.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Crestview Memorial.
