Woodrow "Buck" Sconiers Obituary

Woodrow W. Sconiers, lovingly known as Buck, Uncle Buck, Big Daddy and Paw Paw, passed away peacefully May 25, 2026, at the age of 79. Buck was born August 24, 1946, to Thomas and Lula Sconiers. He was a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs and Walton County. After graduating from Walton High School in 1964, Buck was employed at Casey’s IGA and worked his way to become manager. Born with an entrepreneurial spirit, he was owner of several different businesses: Tastee Freeze, Sconiers & Sons Septic Services, Uncle Buck’s Restaurants, and, recently, his RV Park. Buck was an avid supporter of Walton County sports. He was a past president of the Walton County Quarterback Club. In 1983-1984, he initiated building the first field house for the Walton Braves. Not only did he support the Braves as his granddaughters played sports at Freeport High School, but he would also often attend their basketball and volleyball games. Buck would attend every Friday night football game if his health permitted him. He was a founding member of the Community Holiness Church and a former DeFuniak Springs Councilman.

Buck was welcomed to Heaven by his grandchildren, Kaycee Jones and Kolby Sconiers; his parents, Thomas and Lula Sconiers; brothers, Alto and Ed; sister, Voncile; and special niece, ReDonna Price.

He is survived by his daughter, Pam Jones (Jimmy); three sons, Adrian Sconiers, Rob Sconiers (Elizabeth), and Nick Sconiers (Jessica); his grandchildren and joys of his life, Jared, Elizabeth, Lindsey, Janet, Makenzie and Eli; great granddaughters, Greenlee, Addilyn, and Emery; brother, Paul Sconiers; special cousin, Ronnie Bozeman; and the mother of his children, Lovie Sconiers Redmon; as well as many nieces and nephews.
