Wol Mi Hendrickson

Wol Mi Hendrickson, 80, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026.

Born on February 10, 1946, in Chongbuk-do, South Korea, Wol Mi was the daughter of Yi Ssi and Wang Po, who had emigrated from China to Korea. On December 24, 1968, she married Robert J. Hendrickson, Command Sergeant Major, Retired, and together they built a loving family during Robert’s 27 years of service.

After becoming a United States citizen in 1975, Wol Mi directed her stewardship to the support of soldiers and their families. Her patriotism inspired her to help other military dependents become citizens and mentored them as they adjusted to life in America. Her dedication to soldiers and their families earned her numerous service and recognition awards. Beyond life in the military, she remained a generous supporter of Tunnel 2 Towers and Wounded Warriors.

In retirement, Wol Mi treasured spending time with family and friends, enjoying the casino resort experience with her husband Robert, and cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved tending to her orchids and handmaking crafts.

She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Hendrickson (CSM, USA, Ret.); her three daughters, Mia Chandler, Alice Price (Scott Price), and Karen Hendrickson; her seven grandchildren, Alexander, Kayla, Ashley, Andrew, Skyla, Joshua, and Isabella; and her great-granddaughter, Ellia.

Wol Mi will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and community.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Wol Mi's honor to her most beloved charities the Wounded Warriors Foundation, Tunnel 2 Towers, and Shriner's Hospital.
