Willis Carter Jr., age 75, of Shalimar, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020. He was born in Pensacola, Florida to Willis Carter Sr. and Essie Witherspoon Carter on February 3, 1945. Willis served our country in the United States Marine Corps. After serving in the Marine Corps, Willis continued in Civil Service as a Supervisor. He was married to the love of his life, Janice Lovett Carter.
Willis is survived by his loving wife, Janice Carter; daughters, Ardina Kimble (Richard), Elinor Carter (Shawn) and Crustal Lovett; sons, Carlos Carter, Michael Jones (Aleina), Marcus Lovette, Ladare Lovette (Shandreasteen); brother, Efrem Carter; grandchildren, Annie, Ebony, Krystal, Christopher, Mya Kimble, Jaylen, Kimora, Ja’Carius, Sha’Niyah, Mar Cartise, Taneia, Kedavain, Kendariion, Keniyah, Ladare Jr., Keauviyohna, and Keandre; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kayla, Aliyah, Jayden, Kenasis, Kalis, Kaliyah, Brylan and Zierre.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, Essie & Willie Carter, Sr.; sons, Craig and Willie Carter; brothers, William Boatly, Charles Carter and Terry Carter; and sisters, Patricia Nettles, Essie Palmer, Beverly Roberts, Phyllis Cox and Jeanette Carter.
There will be a graveside service Thursday, July 23, 2020, at 9:00 am, at Barrancus National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, in Pensacola, Florida, 32508.
