William Andrew Wing Sr., age 76, beloved father, brother, and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023. He was born November 21, 1946. Andy was a graduate of UMS and UCF. He was the First President and Founder of CIO Council/Society, which later became the Society for Information Management (SIM) in Orlando, Florida, part of an international organization. Andy was also the President of Valencia Community College Alumni Association. A classically trained singer, Andy had the Andy Wing Show while a student at UMS, when it was still Unitied Military School. On occassion he was heard leading hymns in the Cathedral in downtown Orlando. He was an active member of his community in Manasota Key, Sarasota, Florida, even contributing to the local paper. Andy enjoyed engaging in community projects, including helping with obtaining sidewalk funding and even helping with waterway restoration with a project to remove derelict vessels.
He is predeceased by his brother, Ronny Marsal.
Andy is survived by his half-brother, Tony Marsal; half-sister, Beth McFarlane; adored by his children, Drew Wing (Stacey) and Michael Wing (Christie); and four grandchildren, Madeline Wing Turnipseed (Jack), Andrew Wing (Anna), Wilder Wing (Taylor), and Mary Alden Wing.
Andy is loved and missed by his many friends and family in Alabama and Florida.
