William Charles Pilker

William Charles Pilker, age 78, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Miramar Beach, Florida.

William was born in Bismark, North Dakota to William “Buster” Barkley Pilker and Ruth Elaine Christiansen Pilker.  He graduated in 1964 from West Mecklenburg High School and The University of North Carolina in 1969.  William served in the National Guard in Charlotte, North Carolina from 1968 until 1972.  He also earned his Pilot’s License and was a pilot for Piedmont Airlines and also worked as an Aviation Broker.  He lived in Marietta, Georgia for forty-three years before moving to Santa Rosa Beach in 2014.

William is survived by his brother, James Pilker and wife, Renee Pilker; special nephew, Steven Pilker; cousins, Grace Barfield and husband, Bobby Barfield of Paltaka, Florida and Mary Sue Neves of Blountstown, Florida; and special long-time friends, Norman Katz, Nancy Shaw, Dale Witter, Bryan Duke and Harry Beard.  He is predeceased by his parents, Buster and Ruth Pilker; maternal parents, Leah and Charles Christensen; paternal parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pilker; sons, Alan and Jim Bridges of Blountstown, Florida and aunt, Norma Bridges.
