William Robert Hannah Sr.

William Robert "Bobby" Hannah passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on the 4th of January, 2022, in Destin, Florida. 

A native of Clinton, Mississippi, Bobby earned his bachelor’s degree there as a student athlete at Mississippi College, and taught and coached in Clinton before embarking on a lifelong career as a distinguished leader in the insurance business.  That career led him from Mississippi to Kansas City to Atlanta to Los Angeles before he and his wife, Grace Kitchings Hannah, settled in SanDestin, Florida in 1991. An avid golfer and sports fan, Bobby was beloved by all for his generous, engaging sense of humor that lifted the spirit and brightened every encounter.  A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he delighted in the company of his family and his wide circle of friends.  In the words of one granddaughter, his loss leaves a hole in our hearts which we never wish to mend.  

Bobby is survived by his wife, Grace, their two sons, John and Bob, their wives Colleen and Gabriele, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and his sister, Dorothy Kitchings.

A family graveside service will be held in Clinton, Mississippi in the coming days.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Mississippi College Athletic Department in Clinton Mississippi.
