Daniel “Danny” Gomillion age 71, transitioned on January 6, 2026, from his earthly body to his heavenly body and met the Lord Jesus Christ and his parents and is rejoicing in Heaven. Danny was born to Cecil & Thelma (Jackson) Gomillion. As a youth, he loved hunting and fishing with his parents and siblings, and because of the difference in their ages, he and his younger brother Larry especially enjoyed goofing and playing together. While in high school, Danny played basketball and ran track. After graduating high school, Danny proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After that he followed in his father’s footsteps and began his own carpentry/handy man business. Danny was well known for visiting the VFW with his karaoke machine, where he and the veterans would sing gospel, country, and old-time rock and roll. During his performances, he was affectionately known as “Dango.” Danny spent the last few years of his life at Shoal Creek Rehab and Nursing. He became a Christian later in life and could often be seen and heard witnessing and encouraging others with his faith.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother and father; his daughter, Tammy; his brother, Eugene; and his brother-in-law, James Jordan.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffery, Billy, Shawn, Isaiah, and David (Kelsey); his bonus daughter, April Stanley; twenty-one grandchildren; his sisters, Alice Jordan, Deborah Alford (Lynn); his baby brother, Larry Gomillion; along with his ex-wife and dear friend, Dianne Duell.
While he will be deeply missed by those who loved him, they rejoice in knowing that he has transitioned from this earthly body to his heavenly body and is now forever in the presence of his Lord.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home of DeFuniak Springs.
