William T. Cockrell

William T. Cockrell, age 75, was called home by his Lord and Savior Saturday, August 10, 2019.  He was born January 17, 1944 in Cullman, Alabama to Theddy and May Cockrell.  When he was a young boy, he moved to South Florida.  Eighteen years ago, he made the decision to move to Westville, Florida and since then enjoyed living the country life.  William was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.  “Bill”, as he was known to family and friends, will be remembered for his quiet demeanor and his humble, loving spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 54 years, Evelyn May Cockrell; one daughter, Debra Jean Huskey; and one son-in-law, Robert Huskey.

“Bill” is survived by one son, William “Wess” Cockrell and wife Jody of Westville, Florida; granddaughters, Debra Staack and husband, Mark of Woodbury, Minnesota and Jordan Woolbright and husband Edward of Panama City Beach, Florida; two great-grandchildren, Lila and Robbie Staack; and one sister, Judy Bernard and husband Robert of Jacksonville, Florida.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 5064 County Highway 1883, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.

The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice for the amazing care they provided Bill as well as our Pleasant Grove Baptist Church family for all the love and support they provided our family during his illness.
