Wera "Wynell" Mitchem

Wera “Wynell” Mitchem, age 76, a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at her home.  She was born February 7, 1945 in DeFuniak to Jimmy Lee and Maggie Holley Blackwell. Since Wynell was not too fond of cooking, she loved eating out. Her favorite channel to flip to was the channel selling all that gorgeous jewelry. She could not pass it by. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her daily phone calls will be missed by everyone that she knew and dearly loved. 

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph McCall, and her second husband, Carl Mitchem.

Wynell is survived by one son, Barry McCall; one daughter, Shelia King; three grandchildren, Olivia McCall, Matthew McCall, and Shelby Jowers and husband Kody; three great-grandchildren, Ashton McCall, Paulo Samiu, Jr., and Kimberly Samiu; two stepchildren, Gary Mitchem and Julia Bish; seven step-grandchildren; numerous step-great grandchildren; one sister, Lillie Petty; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 16, 2021, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
