Walter Julius Nelson

Walter Nelson, age 73, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away peacefully Monday, April 28, 2025.  Walter was born July 6, 1951, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to the late Ebbin and Ester Nelson.  He worked as a machinist for most of his life.

Walter is preceded in death by his wife, Margene Cosson.

He is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie King and Heather Kiser (Chris); seven grandchildren, Christian King, Austin Nelson (Sabrina), Houston Nelson (Samantha), Caitlynn King, Ethan King, Daniel Kiser (Jordan), and Alyssa Kiser (Trent); nine great grandchildren, Elijah, Fraya, Adalynn, Issac, Braiden, Peyton, Carson, Levi, and Elliott; and other loving family members, Bethanie Messer (Luke and Noah) and Julie Ottis (Cody and Cheyanne).

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Minister Joel Davis officiating.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior.  Committal services will follow at Pleasant Ridge Church cemetery in Walton County.
