Vernon Ray Jeans (Ray), age 85, of Youngstown, Florida formerly from Canton, Georgia passed away peacefully at 8:00 a.m. on March 20, 2026.
Ray was born on June 25, 1940, in Winchester, Tennessee, to the late Elmer and Lena Jeans. He lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and quiet strength, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience that will be cherished by all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Geraldine Jeans; his sons, Terry Jeans, Tony Jeans and his spouse Kim, Milam Jeans and his spouse Gwen, and Aaron Jeans; and his stepdaughter, Kim Brandt and her husband Craig. Ray was a proud grandfather to Amber Smith, Layla Austin, Mandy Koch, Tiffany Fields, Tiffany Wright, Josh Jeans, Jake Jeans, Trey Byers, Tori Byers, Olivia Folta, Mason Jeans, Bryson Jeans, William Jeans, Lujack Jeans, Avery Jeans Taylor Young, Corey Bryant, and Conner Jeans, special extended family Phill and Barbara Thomason, Becky and Randy Bailey and 14 great grandchildren each of whom brought him great joy.
He is also survived by his siblings, Billy Jeans and his wife Linda, Ernie Jeans and his wife Susan, and Carol Welchel.
Ray was preceded in death by his beloved parents; his brothers, Milton Jeans, John Jay Jeans, and James Jeans; his sister, Juanita Norris; his son, Phillip Jeans; and his stepdaughter, Jennie Byers.
Ray will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his steady presence, and the kindness he extended to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
A life so well lived leaves behind a legacy of love that will never fade.
