Velma "Betty" Sprinkle Dietle passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her devoted family and an abundance of love. Born on October 25, 1937, in Crestview, Florida, to Albert Sprinkle and Tillie Mae Powers, Betty's life was defined by her faith in Jesus, her service to her family, and her enduring friendships.
Betty attended elementary school in Okaloosa County before moving to Germany for the 6th and 7th grades. Upon returning to Florida, she graduated from Choctawhatchee High School. In her youth, she was known for her vibrant spirit as a cheerleader, Girl Scout, and band student.
A skilled and compassionate nurse for over 20 years, Betty provided selfless comfort to countless individuals, leaving a profound impact on many lives. Family was the heartbeat of her world; she was a nurturing mother, a cherished grandmother (Memaw), and a proud great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Her loving legacy lives on through her surviving children: John Davis (Deborah) Edward Davis, Stephen Davis, Debbie (Mike) Zukosky, David Dietle and Jonathan Dietle. She was the adored Memaw of Audrey, Adrianne (Steve), Joshua (Diana), Nic, Deidre (James) Elizabeth (Derek), Johnny III (Jessica), Stephanie (Jordan), Kaylan, Chris, Matt, Samantha, Ashley, Amanda (Jeff), and Larry. Her joyful spirit further shines through her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She remains a loyal sister to Patricia Viertel, Joseph Sprinkle (Billie Joyce), Sharon Sprinkle Alexander, and is survived by many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Betty is now reunited with her beloved parents; her husband, Albert "Al" Dietle; her precious daughter, Patricia "Patty" Gail; and her siblings, Albert "Bert" Sprinkle, Orville Sprinkle, Harold Sprinkle, Barbara "Bobbie" Sprinkle Gulley, Marie Sprinkle Sweatt, and Samuel "Sammy" Sprinkle.
To those who knew her, Betty was a faithful and spirited friend, sharing an enduring friendship with Pauline Yamato. Her warm heart and generous nature created an inviting place for all. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love that will be forever cherished.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Tuel and Emerald Coast Hospice, with special appreciation for Paula, Alexis, Marsha, Laura, Morgan, Sarah, and Chris. We truly could not have done this without such an amazing team.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Betty's Life on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Davis Watkins Funeral Home (113 N.E. Racetrack Rd., FWB, FL). Visitation and services will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Following the service, Betty will be laid to eternal rest at Beal Memorial Cemetery (316 Beal Pkwy., FWB, FL).
