Tobin L. Watkins

Tobin L. Watkins, a resident of Lucas Lake in Washington County, Florida, passed away on September 24, 2021, at the age of 61.   He was born in Marion, Indiana, on August 5, 1960, to Loren “Harve” Watkins and Nancy Cole Watkins. 

Tobin grew up in LaFontaine, Indiana, and was a 1978 graduate of Southwood High School. He raised his family in Wabash, Indiana, prior to moving to Florida in 1998.  Tobin was known for his highly skilled talents in the building industry.  He had a knack for creating an unconventional solution to any problem and was known to work harder than everyone around him. Tobin was a classic car collector and even enjoyed working on a project car or two.  He participated in many car shows and liked to chat with other enthusiast.  Tobin also enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards and bargain hunting.  He had a great sense of humor and loved being a comedian, there wasn’t a joke he didn’t know.  Tobin had a huge heart for people, often lending a helping hand or making strangers feel special.  Most of all, he was proud of and loved his family, especially, his grandchildren.       

Tobin is survived by his sons, Trent (Kelly) Watkins of Panama City Beach, Florida, Travis (Charles) Watkins of Destin, Florida, and Tyler (Ashley) Watkins of Southport, Florida; his grandchildren, Kayleigh, Clayton, Avery, Harper and Harrison.  He is also survived by his sisters, Tena Herron of Wabash, IN, and Amy Maples of Wabash, Indiana; his nieces and nephews, Chad Morris of Wabash, Indiana, Lesley (Chad) Nelson of LaFontaine, Indiana, Jamie (Mike) Kuzemka of Bloomington, Indiana, Aleese Maples of Panama City Beach, Florida, Mescha Watkins of LaFontaine, Indiana, and Scott House of Fort Wayne, Indiana; extended family members; and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Troy Watkins; and nephew, Aaron House.
