Timothy Shawn Dever, 65, of Destin, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 10, 2026.
Born on July 25, 1960, in Cleveland, Ohio, Timothy was the youngest, beloved son of Irene and Eugene Dever. He grew up in Ohio and went on to attend Ohio State University, laying the foundation for a successful and dedicated career.
On December 28, 1996, Timothy married the love of his life, Gina Zombek, on a balmy December day in Cleveland. Together, they built a life centered on love, loyalty, long dinners and loads of laughter.
A lifelong Convention Industry National Sales Representative, Timothy was known for his professionalism, strong relationships, and deep commitment to his work. He also served as a Real Estate Broker, reflecting his versatility and strong work ethic.
Although he hailed from Ohio, Timothy truly loved living along the white sands of Florida’s Gulf Coast. He embraced the sunshine and coastal lifestyle of Destin. Known affectionately at home as “Bear”, Timothy was fiercely loyal to those he loved. He enjoyed his favorite foods, valued his personal beliefs and changed from the Democratic to the Republican Party, so he rarely missed keeping up with Fox News.
Timothy is survived by his loving wife, Gina; beloved only son, Jake Patrick Dever; sister, Diane Dever; brother, Michael Dever (Janet); and dear friends, Brian Carney and Holly Waters. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve Dever; and brother-in-law, Steve Zombek; and his beloved beagle, Tippy.
A funeral service to celebrate Timothy’s life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Destin. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the church's Pope John Paul Hall. Timothy’s ashes will be buried at sea at a later date.
Timothy's zest for life and infectious laughter will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
