Terri Marlaine Heacock

Terri Marlaine Heacock, age 73, of DeFuniak Springs Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family Saturday, May 30, 2020. She was born in El Dorado, Kansas, grew up in Key West, Florida, lived most of her life in Asheville, North Carolina, and finally settled down in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

She's preceded in death by her parents, Halford Charles and Janice Louise Eckert and one sister, Heidi Moreno.

Terri is survived by her husband, Ronald Wayne Heacock of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; two sons, Stephen Douglas Mein and wife Tiffany of Georgia and Neil Joseph Woerner and wife Nikka of Denmark; one daughter, Christiane Rene Parsons of North Carolina; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Micheal Eckert and wife Sue of California.

Terri was a kind-hearted, loving wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, feeding, and watching her birds. She was a strong animal rights activist, supporting the animal whether it was wild or domestic. She loved the mountains, sailing, and hiking. She was very strong in her political beliefs, a woman of principle and courage. Terri was more than just a strong figure, she was a woman of gentle smiles; a soothing voice and many of her sentences ended with,” I love you.” Above all, she loved her family with every fiber of her being.
