Teena Elaine Clay, age 59, of Freeport, Florida passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020. She was born August 30, 1960, in Marietta, Georgia to Harrell and Elaine Whitener. Moving from Niceville, she had been a resident of Freeport for the past six years. If ever there was an individual who loved their Lord and Savior, it was Teena. She devoted numerous hours to her daily Bible study. The Shepard’s Chapel broadcast was extremely important to her because of the knowledge she was able to reap from their teachings. A priority in her life was making sure she spent quality time with her granddaughters. Teena was an avid gardener. She enjoyed growing flowers, veggies, herbs, and planting various fruit trees.
Teena is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Sean Clay; son, James Jesse Clay; daughter-in-law, Ashley; two granddaughters, Alexis Clay and Jocelyn Tague; both parents; and one brother, James Sandy Whitener and wife JoAnne.
A time of visitation will be held Friday, January 31, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020, beginning at 1 p.m. at Heritage Church in Freeport, Florida with Pastors Joel Davis, Bill Clay, and Ronnie Head officiating.
