Tawakul Susan Baird

The Matriarch of our family, Tawakul S. Baird, born May 3,1947, passed away on February 20, 2026, with loved ones by her side. She was a fierce woman who enjoyed the journey and approached life with curiosity and strength. Whether it was traveling the world, learning new languages and cultures, honing her skills or building new relationships within her circle, she appreciated the life experiences that broadened her perspective. Family and Community mattered deeply to her. She valued the connections she built with family, friends, and neighbors, and she spent her life serving and supporting people she loved. Those who knew her will remember her profound generosity and her compassionate interest in the lives of others.

She was preceded in death by her precious daughter, Shanti; her stepson, Jay; her granddaughter, Leslie; and the love of her life, George.

She is survived by an extensive web of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and by a vast community of friends who will miss her dearly.

She will be laid to rest forever in the arms of her beloved daughter Shanti and George at Salt Lake City Cemetery on Saturday, May 2, 2026. A celebration of her beautiful life will be held at the Woodhaven Event Center, 1398 Luck Lane, Millcreek, Utah, on May 3, 2026, from 1 to 4 PM.
