Sun "Connie" Raines Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Sun Ok Raines, “Connie”, age 76, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Connie was born May 25,1945, in Cholapuk-do, Korea to her father, Pyong O Pak, and mother, Sun Yo Kim. She met the love of her life, Ruby Lee Raines ,“Buck” (US Army ret.), during his assignment in South Korea and then married on September 12, 1969, in Seoul, Korea. Connie was a proud Army wife that always supported her husband wherever his orders took them until he retired and they made their final family home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, remaining an active member of All Nations Baptist Church.  Devoted to her faith, Connie loved her God with all her heart, and she absolutely loved her church like her family.  She always looked forward to volunteering at various events with her congregation to support in their efforts to give back to the community and support the church’s missionary goals; especially enjoyed the fellowship with her church family.  She passionately loved her furry companions that she had for many years; Princess, a teacup poodle and her chihuahua, Chico. As an amazing cook, Connie would always be in the kitchen cooking her mouthwatering Korean dishes for her family and friends. She made "THE BEST" kimchi around! The true highlight of her days that she undeniably loved and always looked forward to was making memories; being silly and laughing with her great granddaughter, Aurora.  Spending time outside gardening and feeding her squirrels that would visit her daily was a pure joy for her.  Connie will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends always cherishing their memories of her extremely caring heart, gentle sweet soul and her unique sense of humor and jokes that would have everyone laughing. Connie was unquestionably funny!

Connie is survived by her daughter, Annie Raines Spradlin (Roger Spradlin); granddaughter, Kayla R. Zuber (Joshua Zuber); great granddaughter, Aurora Zuber; brother, O Chae Pak; and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruby Lee Raines.
