Stoney Fenier Mathis II, 28 years old, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, was granted his wings June 7, 2021. He was born March 4, 1993 to Stoney Fenier Mathis and Jelata Wilson-Mathis. He confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age at Calvary Baptist Church. Stoney’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Stoney was loving son to his parents and a true friend to his friends – ready and willing at a moment’s notice to help anyone. Stoney had a vivacious personality. Stoney will continue to stay with us all through memories, and the laughs he forced us all to endure whether we were in the mood for it or not.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James (Bobo) Mathis, Jimmie Lee Wilson, and Ella Mae Beck-Wilson.
Stoney leaves to cherish his memories, his parents, Stoney Fenier Mathis and Jelata Wilson-Mathis; his brother, Darius Wilson; sister, LaQuanta (Kevin) Anderson; grandmother, Carolyn Mathis; aunt and uncles, Ereaka Stubbs, Jimmie (Rona) Wilson, Crystal Mathis, Phyllis (Rodney) Alexander, Steven Mathis; and a host of wonderful and amazing nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
