Steven Randale Clemmons, age 58, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at his home. He was born October 1, 1963 to Bernice Sheffield and Edward Clemons. Steve was raised by his grandparents, Rosby and Juanita Sheffield in DeFuniak Springs. He graduated with Walton Senior High School’s Class of 1981 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Steven retired from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department in Louisville, KY.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rosby and Juanita Sheffield, affectionately known as “Mama” and “Daddy”; and three extended-family siblings, Jerry, David, and Carolyn Sheffield.
Steven is survived by his wife, Kathlene Clemmons; two daughters, Julia (Clarence) Fitz-Gibby and Whitney Marie Clemmons; three grandchildren, Kyndall, Tristan, and Jaxson Gibby; his mother, Bernice Howard; three siblings, Natalie (Devin) Roberts, Torrian (Renee) Howard, Brian (Tanell) Howard; thirteen nieces and nephews; twenty great-nieces and nephews; his childhood siblings, Veronica (Charles) Engram, Andrea (David) Nix, Clara (Bobby) Brasfield, Cedric (Denise) Sheffield, Barbara Dean, Danita Sheffield, Ross (Wanda) Sheffield, and Teresa (Larry) Long; sister-in-law, Salonia Sheffield; and his many extended nieces and nephews affectionately known as the Sheffield family “Cousin Club.”
To honor Steven's wishes, there will be no public services at this time.
