Stephen David Milewski

Stephen David Milewski, age 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Laurel Hill, Florida, on June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Born on June 3, 1955, in Tacoma, Washington, Stephen was the son of Inez Watkins and Joseph Milewski. He spent his childhood growing up in Wichita, Kansas, and Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He later lived in Niceville before settling in Laurel Hill, where he made his home.

Stephen earned his nursing degree from Pensacola Junior College and dedicated his career to caring for others. He retired from Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, where he was respected by colleagues and patients alike for his compassion and commitment.

Stephen was known for his adventurous spirit, generous heart, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He loved golf, boating, gardening, cooking, and especially spending time on or near the water. Some of his happiest moments were spent traveling and creating memories with his beloved life partner of 25 years, Lourdes "Dessi" Quiray.

Stephen was a loyal friend whose kindness and friendship touched many lives. In his final days, he was comforted by visits from lifelong friends who came to share stories, laughter, and love. Their presence was a testament to the lasting impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him. His family also finds comfort in knowing that he was anointed and received the Last Rites from Father Marien of Our Lady of Victory Church in Crestview.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Milewski and Inez Watkins, and his sister, Loretta "Lori" Pauline Curtis.

Stephen is survived by his devoted life partner, Lourdes "Dessi" Quiray; her children, Thea Quiray Tagle, Ashley Larranaga, Chanelle Larranaga, Brynette Larranaga, and Anthony Larranaga; his brother, Mark Milewski and wife Kim; his nephew, Mark Paul Milewski and wife Jennifer; his nieces, Brionne Milewski and Jennifer Marsh who is the daughter of his late sister, Lori and Jennifers wife, Melissa. He is also survived by his faithful Labrador companion, Bingo, who remained by his side and brought him comfort and companionship.

Stephen will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his adventurous nature, his generosity, and his ability to make others feel welcome. Whether on the golf course, out on the water, tending his garden, preparing a meal, or sharing a laugh with those he loved, he embraced life fully and brought joy to those around him.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
