Shirley Gettler Obituary

Shirley Jean Gettler, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Westwood Nursing Home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was born September 11,1934, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Earl Harold Stanley and Genevieve Bloodworth. Shirley completed her high school education in Memphis, Tennessee; worked as a supervisor and retired from Vitro Industries in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and was a member of St. Simon’s Episcopal Church in Fort Walton Beach. As a member of the Beach Divas, the Red Hat Society, and TOPS, she greatly loved and enjoyed her friendships and affiliations.

Shirley is survived by her son, Claude Wesley Bean and his wife Patricia Ann Bean; her grandsons, Justin Wyatt Bean and Jarred Drew Bean; her great-grandson, Wyatt Samuel Bean and his wife Caitlin Leilani Bean; and her one great-great-grandson, Oliver James Bean.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Henry Gettler; and her siblings Joella, Sandy, and Bobby.

Shirley will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for her dedication and love for her family and friends.
