With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Sharon Lee Kress of Fort Walton Beach, FL on November 23, 2019. She was the loving and devoted wife of Bill Kress. Sharon and Bill, who met in 10th grade and began dating just before graduation, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She took exceptional care of their family during Bill’s 20 years in the Air Force and afterward. Their marriage sets a timeless example for us all.
Sharon is survived by her son Barry W. Kress and his children Trevor 12 and Avalyn 1 of Tyler, TX; daughter Robyn N. Hayes and her children Dylan 16, Logan 13, and Avery 4 of Fort Walton Beach, FL; Cinnamon, her Maltipoo; and countless friends and relatives. She is predeceased by her parents John Prokopiak and Jeanette Barry.
Family was incredibly important to Sharon, and her family adored her. She spent her happiest days caring for and doting on the grandchildren and was an integral part of their lives. Living in the same town as Dylan, Logan, and Avery gave her ample opportunity to participate in their day-to-day activities and watch them grow. She frequently traveled to visit her Texas grandchildren Trevor and Avalyn. She was delighted to see Avalyn’s first steps during a recent visit during Avalyn’s 1st birthday and was thrilled Trevor had made the junior high school tennis team. The pride she had for her children and grandchildren was evident in her smile when she said their names, and the example she set of how to live with love and grace will serve them all well.
Above all else, she loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and her dog Cinnamon. She is greatly missed and will never be forgotten.
