Sharon Chambless Obituary

Sharon Bell (Jones) Chambless entered into rest April 26, 2026. She was born May 17, 1945 to Lee and Dorothy McCoshum Jones in Butte Montana. She spent most of her childhood living in the Pacific Northwest and considered Washington her home. She moved to Destin, Florida as a teenager where she met the love of her life, Bennie "Harold" Chambless. Less than a year later she became a military wife and for the next 20 years she followed her husband wherever Uncle Sam sent them. She lived in several states thoughout her life and even got to go to Japan for a while.
Sharon enjoyed many things in life. She enjoyed cake decorating, baking, sewing and all sorts of other crafts. She absolutely loved bingo and board games, always managing to win somehow. You could always count on Sharon to have a ton of plants. No matter where she set up house she would plant her flower beds shortly after arrival. Though she did work off and on throughout life, most of all she was a military wife and mother. She was a Den Mom for the boy scouts. She helped with the girl scouts and was very involved with the schools. She also enjoyed helping those who needed a helping hand. She was even a foster parent for awhile. On top of all of this chaos she managed to raise 5 children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Bennie "HaroLd" Chambless; daughter, Dolores "Dolly" Chambless Winter and son- in-law, Norman Winter; sister and best friend, Marjorie Matier; sisters, Rose Jones and Lillian Jones; brother,  Andrew Jones.

She is survived by her children, Mary Chambless Pitre of New Mexico, Bennie H Chambless Jr of Spokane, Washington, Agnes"Marie" and partner HenryDell of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, William L Chambless and wife Christie of Olympia, Washington; sister, Betty Boles of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; brother, John Jones of Florida; her surviving grandchildren have spread far and wide and include, Desirie Green, Elizabeth Pitre, Stephanie Hall, Cassandra "Jaxx" Chambless, LillyAnn M.
