Scott David Mowry, 59, passed away unexpectedly at home, April 18, 2026 in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
A Georgia native and former Walton Raider and Valdosta State football player, Scott’s natural leadership ability shone through his years of coaching both on and off the field. Professionally, he led with integrity at The Chamberlain Group, but his heart was always with his family, friends, and his community. In his recent years, he found peace along the shores of the Florida Gulf Coast.
Scott understood that each day is a gift. He lived with a purpose to make others feel loved, known, and valued. He invested his time in his people. Whether through a joke, a heartfelt letter, or his steady presence, he lit up every room. Scott knew Jesus and walked closely with Him to glorify God.
Scott was a devoted husband of 37 years to Michelle and a proud father to Blake Mowry (Ellie) and Caroline Mowry. He was also the cherished “Bubba” to his grandsons, Max and Brooks, and his honorary grandchildren, Jay and Nora. In addition, he is survived by sisters, Therese Mowry Waters (Robert) and Trina Mowry Woods (Kirk), as well as a wide circle of family and friends. Scott was predeceased by his parents, Wayne S. Mowry and Vicki Freegard Mowry. Our lives are positively changed by the time he spent loving us.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Eden Gardens State Park. Join Scott in the mission to fight child hunger in his community.
