Savannah Jordan Obituary

Savannah Almeter Jordan, age 86, passed away December 22, 2025.  She was born January 15, 1939. Sister Savannah Almeter Crystal Jordan was the eldest child born to Henry and Alline Christian in Bonifay, Florida. Most of her livelihood was spent in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, where she was educated at Tivoli High School. During their early years, she and her siblings accompanied their mother to Park Street Church of God in Christ (COGIC). During her young adult years Sister Savannah attended Temple Baptist and Bethel Presbyterian churches but in her senior years she reunited with the Park Street COGIC congregation where she confessed repentance for her sins and received salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She faithfully attended services until her husband & and her health failed. She strongly supported the Park Street children, youth and young adults as they shared on Youth Service Sundays. She and Thomas Jordan, Jr. were united in Holy Matrimony during their young adult years in the home of her maternal grandmother, Leola Young. This marriage lasted for over 60 years until God separated their union in the year 2025. As the oldest sibling, Savannah was given leadership responsibilities at home and in the community, which she performed in a spirit of willingness, dependability, and compassion. She was employed by private families as a childcare provider, the Walton County School District, and retired from the Walton County Convalescent Center where she showed special nurturing skills for the elderly She loved her family and without hesitation shared hospitality to those far and near. Some said that her potato salad was the best in the land. She enjoyed accompanying her husband on fishing, hunting, and vacation trips. Sis Savannah was a loving, devoted and faithful helpmeet to her husband throughout their many years together. We don’t always understand God’s ways and paths, but Sister Savannah finished Gods purposed for her on earth and is now resting in the Glorious Eternal Presence of her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ!
