We are saddened to inform the public that Samuel "Sammy" Stephen Stinemire passed away on 28 August 2025. Sammy enjoyed over 40 years of unfiltered happiness, always shining his light on those around him.
Sammy was born on February 15, 1985 at Walter Reed Army Medical center in Bethesda, Maryland. He faced exceptional adversity from the moment he entered this world, but he always met those challenges with a no-quit attitude and a love for life. Sammy spent his formative years enjoying camp and school while getting outdoors whenever possible, especially to spend some time splashing around in any water that he could. He loved watching his favorite movies, playing with his Barney, and catching the next Stone Cold Steve Austin match.
Sammy served as the face of a Miracle League launch in Moody, Alabama, which is still active over twenty-five years later. Just as that League has endured, so too has Sammy's impact on those who were blessed enough to be touched by him.
Sammy is preceded in death by his stepfather, Richard L. Palmer, II, and his uncle, Robert "Bob" Seivert.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah Palmer; his two brothers, James (Stephanie Dunton) "Tygs" Stinemire, Jr. and Daniel (Jennifer) Stinemire; his sister, Lisetta (Rocky) Barrois; his aunt, Mary Seivert; two nieces; and three nephews; as well as many other family members and friends that will miss him dearly while cherishing the time that they were able to share with him.
The family will have a private viewing, but no formal service will be held. They ask that, in lieu of flowers, contributions are made to the Hydrocephalus Association.
