Roy Michael “Mike” Pearson passed away on 15 May 2021 at Belvedere Commons Retirement Community, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, after a brief battle with cancer.
Mike Pearson was born on June 14, 1943, to Roy W. Pearson and Mary E. Pearson, both of Holdrege, Nebraska. Mike was educated in Holdrege Public Schools, graduating in 1961. He later earned a B.A. in Economics from Pennsylvania Military College in Chester, PA, and commissioned into the U.S. Army. He served on active duty during the Vietnam War before returning to Holdrege to work for his father at the K.K. Appliance Company.
After the sale of K.K., Mike sold insurance for a few years before moving to Texas. In 2009, he took a grandparent’s dream job, becoming a full time nanny to his three grandchildren and following his daughter Michelle and her husband in their military careers.
Mike is survived by his daughter Michelle Suberly and her husband Michael and three granddaughters, Renae Hacker and her husband Ethan, Jessica Suberly and Elizabeth Suberly.
A memorial service will be held on June 9, 2021 at 10:30 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Pensacola, Florida. It will be live streamed for those who wish to join in.
