Rosalie Costello Obituary

Rosalie Genevieve Costello, 92 of Utica, New York, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 19, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter and stories that will be told for generations.

She lived a long and meaningful life. She will be remembered for her kind heart, strong spirit, sense of humor, and her generosity. Her wisdom and grace touched everyone who knew her. While we will miss her deeply, we smile knowing she would not want tears for long. Instead, she would want us gathered around the table eating, telling stories and laughing loudly.
Her love lives on in all of us. Rosalie was born in Utica, NY on December 1st, 1933, to Giacomo ‘Jack’ Costello and Marianna ‘Anna’ Alario Costello. She was the youngest of five siblings. Rosalie graduated from Ithaca High School and later in life became a Certified Medical Assistant.

While she grew up in Ithaca, NY, her life brought her to New Jersey, Jacksonville, FL, Cortland NY and finally to Fort Walton Beach Fl, spending time with family in every place she lived.
She is survived by her son John Golembeski, daughter Ellen Davis; grandchildren Cole Davis, Cooper Davis, Mitch Davis, Travis Pagan, Kate Lewis, Morgan Seiple, Austin Zapata, Evan Lewis and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Giacomo and Marianna Costello, brothers Frank Costello, Guy Costello, Joseph Costello, sister Anna R. Carpenter and daughter Karen Lewis.

Per her wishes, her ashes will be laid to final rest with her parents and family in Calvary Cemetery, Ithaca, NY.

A celebration of life will be held early summer 2026 in Ithaca, New York where she will be laid to rest with her Mother and Father whom she loved dearly.

When she could, she would send donations to the Wounded Warrier Project. In lieu of flowers, she would ask if you could make a small donation to that charity.
