Ronnie Lee Potter

Ronnie Lee Potter, Sr. was born on February 6, 1954 in DeFuniak Springs, FL.  He was the ninth of thirteen children born to the late William, Sr. and Inez Potter.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Gloria, Jimmie, Barbara, Shirley, William “Son”, Connie, and Mona.

Ronnie attended Tivoli and Walton High School in DeFuniak Springs, FL.  He had various jobs, including working at Cooking Good Poultry Plant and was known as a very hardworking man.  Ronnie moved to West Palm Beach, FL, where he eventually met and married Carolyn Richardson.

Ronnie worked as a driver for many years at Twin City Waste, which later became WasteWater Management, until his health began to decline.  He was a humorous, straight-talking individual, who enjoyed endless conversations with family and friends.  His love of story-telling and spending time with his family made him a joy to be around.  In every exchange, he was sure to include a discussion about food and cooking, his most beloved pastime.

On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, Ronnie entered eternal rest.  He is survived by and leaves precious memories to his loving and devoted wife, Carolyn; his children, Taneisha, Takeisha, Alexandria, Tyler, and Ronnie Jr.; grandchildren, Keiasha, Keiana, Keiyon, Keiyonte’, Michael Jr., Syriah, Alexis, Sahara, Sarah, and Taylor; siblings, Evelyn (Raymond), Robert (Angela), Angela (Chester), Janice, and Sheila; sister-in-law, Carestine;  brothers-in-law, David and Curtis, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.

A time of visitation will be held Friday, October 11, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.  Funeral services will be held at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019.  Committal services will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
