Ronald Patrick Dyer, age 72, of Crestview, Florida passed from this life Saturday, July 24, 2021. Ronald was born April 17, 1949 to Marvin and Blanche Dyer of Winslow, Maine. Ronald was one of six children. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings. Ron joined the Air Force in 1971. Early in his military career lovely Elaine Lacock captured his heart. Ron and Elaine were wed February 14, 1974. Ron and Elaine were blessed with three sons: John, Matthew and Phillip during their 47 years of marriage.
Ron proudly served his country for 20 years in the Air Force until retiring in Florida. Ron loved God and served him faithfully. Ron and Elaine made Emerald Coast Church their home for over 25 years. Ron served in many roles throughout those years finding new ways to show God’s love to others. There were many changes through the years and one of the best changes came when Pastor Tim and Ann brought their family to join the church. Ron could always be found at church by locating the man in the stylish, elegant hats and on occasion, very festive hats.
Ron is survived by his wife, Elaine, son John and his wife Vicki, son Phillip and his wife Danielle, son Matthew; his grandchildren, Alyssa and fiancé Thomas, Mikayla, Savannah, Noah, Sebastian, Emmett and Adelaide; brothers Carroll, Danny and sister Yvette, numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Ron was so excited to become a grandfather. Having only sons, he longed to be able to purchase baby dolls for his granddaughters, which he did without hesitation. His grandsons had various interests but the strongest being trains that Grandpa was happy to spoil them with. One thing Grandpa was best known for among the grandchildren was his ability to help build the best sandcastles at the beach.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday July 28, 2021 at Emerald Coast Church with Pastor Tim Black officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will be held at Alabama National Cemetery.
Arrangements and services are under the direction of Davis Watkins Crestview Memorial.
