Roger married Sandra (Van Laethem) in 1965 and they were blessed with four children: William, Susie, Barbara and Remie. Roger and Sandra were eventually divorced but remained friends. Roger later found love again with Karen Bryant, and they lived together in Murphy, North Carolina, for nearly twenty years.
