Roberta Jean Palmer

Roberta Jean Palmer, age 76, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at North Okaloosa Medical Center.  She was born March 22, 1947, in Miami, Florida to William White and Mary Miller White.

Roberta began every morning by drinking hot tea on her swing while talking to her sister. She had a great love for the beach, and especially her grandchildren. She always cared for others and put their needs before her own. Very detail-oriented, she always strived to make everyone happy. Roberta was passionate about volunteering with Resources for Human Development (RHD) and participated in the Torch Run, parades and more. She was a faithful member of Baldwin Baptist Church, where she was very involved. She dearly loved her church family who has always been there for her. She enjoyed sharing recipes and living next door to her brother who always took care of her yard, while she kept the inside of her home immaculate. Special days were important to Roberta, so she went all out decorating for every holiday, especially Easter and her favorite holiday, Christmas.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lowell Palmer; and parents, William and Mary Miller White.

Roberta is survived by three daughters, Christina Ann Whatley, Jolene “Lena” Lindsey, and Audrey Katherine Bryant; one sister, Martha Lantz (Bob); one brother, Robert White (Debbie); five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family, friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Wilbur Williams officiating.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
