Robert Trexler Obituary

Robert "Bob" McClellan Trexler, 72 of Crestview, Florida was called home to our Lord on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018. Bob fell asleep, after a short battle with cancer, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and son.

Bob was born to the late Lloyd and Lena Trexler in Garden City, Kansas on September 15th, 1946. Bob met the love of his life Kitty in 1967 when living in Phoenix, Arizona while he was home on leave from the Military. Bob served two deployments in Vietnam while enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1972 as a Seabee BU-3. Bob and Kitty married in 1971 and have resided in Southern California, Western Kansas, and the Panhandle of Florida. Bob retired as a correctional officer from the Okaloosa Correctional Institute in 2009. Bob and his family were faithful communicants of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Crestview where he enjoyed cheerfully greeting church members as an usher.

Robert is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Kitty; Son, Michael and wife Melanie; Son, Clinton; grandchildren, Vincent, Steven, Gavin Zachary, and Joshua; his brother, Gerald; sister, Linda Bernardy; brother in law, Richard Smith; sister in law, Nancy Smith, several nieces and nephews, and friends from OCI.

A memorial service in honor of Robert will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church at 178 W. North Ave. Crestview, FL on Friday, September 28th at 10:00 am.
