It is with grieving hearts we share the passing of our Dad, Robert A. Pollard, 82, of Center Lovell, Maine. He passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital Emerald Coast, Miramar Beach, Florida on March 30, 2026.
He is survived by his two daughters, Deirdre Pollard and companion, Dennis Kearney, of Dedham, Massachusetts and Sarah Pollard of Whitehall, Pennsylvania; his son, Christopher Pollard and wife, Amy Van Dine, of Ardmore, PA; and his grandchildren, Triston Pollard of Gresham, Oregon, and Addison and Vivien Pollard of Ardmore, PA. He was affectionately known as “ Bob Bob” to his grands.
Born in Ashland, Nebraska, he was the son of Gail and Neva (Laird) Pollard, youngest brother to Keith and Ken Pollard. Robert graduated from Ashland High School and University of Nebraska where he was a proud Cornhusker and member of the Farmhouse Fraternity
After serving the Army in Vietnam, he had a successful career in Insurance in Boston and Philadelphia before becoming an independent business owner in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. He retired as a Ski Instructor at Big Boulder and eventually moved to his beloved Heald Pond in Lovell, Maine. He loved golf (Bobby One Putt), watching the stars from his boat (to the boats!) and having friends gather by his fire pit for stories and songs into the night (Bye Bye Miss American Pie). He loved to travel and eventually became a snowbird in Destin, Florida where he learned to play cards, ballroom dance and play the ukulele. He will forever be remembered for his fun-loving, adventurous spirit, thoughtful cards, and as the Nebraska Indian Chief to his motley crew of Foxboro Jaycees for over forty years. RIP RAP, may your country road take you home. XO.
Services: the family will be holding a private Celebration of Life this summer in Maine.
Bob loved golf, fire pits, Jack Daniels and cigars, so raise a glass, put on some John Denver and toast to his spirit. We would love to hear your memories; therefore, please consider signing the guestbook at www.daviswatkins.com
