Robert “Romeo” Kellogg, was born September 8, 1968 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. From an early age, Robert was known for his adventurous spirit, always exploring the world with wide-eyed wonder. Whether climbing trees, exploring the wonders of North 11th street, or tending to his first pet “Skip”, Robert was happiest when surrounded by the love of his family.
Robert had an infectious, and rambunctious energy level that lit up any room he entered. His playful nature reminded us of all of the simple joys of childhood. As an adolescent, being both a Boy Scout and an Eagle Scout is just a small reflection of his dedication and leadership skills. His participation in the St. Joseph AME youth choir and the Young Peoples Department continued to show that he had a passion for service, people, and music.
Robert attended Okaloosa County public schools and is a graduate of Niceville High School, class of 1986. After his high school graduation, Robert attended Florida State University before transferring to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University to pursue his degree. During his time at FAMU, Robert became a proud member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity- Mu Epsilon chapter, where lasting friendships and a continued sense of brotherhood are formed. As an active member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Robert served as chapter president. His dedication to the fraternity extended beyond his college years, and he maintained strong ties with his fraternity brothers throughout his life. Robert often credited the fraternity with shaping his character and providing lifelong support and camaraderie.
Robert is preceded in death by a loving and devoted mother, Ollie Bernice Kellogg; his maternal grandparents, Noah Goodson, Sr. and Irene Goodson; his beloved aunts, Lurene Baldwin, Erma Davis, Norma Jean Hartfield, and Alice Hennessy; and his uncles, Noah Goodson, Jr., Wendell Goodson, Sr., Fred J, and Benny Ross Goodson, Sr.
