Robert Lee Blackmon, age 67, entered into eternal rest April 26, 2022 at 6:18 P.M. He was in the care of Regency Hospice at Chautauqua Nursing Center. He was born February 4,1955 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, the second oldest of five children, to the late John Lee and Willie Jean Blackmon. Robert was a graduate of Walton Senior High School Class of 1974. He worked for Showell Farms/Perdue for ten years, SanDestin Resort for eight years, and Florida Transformer Inc. for ten years; until he fell ill. Robert enjoyed listening to old R & B music and the blues, having cookouts, playing cards, watching and playing basketball, making people laugh, going to the beach, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Mable McCullough; his parents, John Lee and Willie Jean Blackmon; and his sisters, Mable Jean Blackmon and Mary Hudson.
Robert is survived by his devoted children, Robert Lamont Blackmon (Jana), Crystal D. Hamilton, and Rosheen E. Blackmon; grandchildren, Donte L. Blackmon, Harley Blackmon (Lexi), Kaniyah Miller, Stonie Blackmon, Amir Holmes, Ocean Blackmon, and Melenese L. Salter; great-grandchildren, Meisa Blackmon, and Nikkole Blackmon, all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; two loving brothers, Marco Blackmon and John Lewis Williams, Sr.; one special sister, Doretha Flora McCullough of Panama City, Florida; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Douglass Crossroads Park, 152 Douglass Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
