Richard Dennis Thrall, lovingly known as “Ricky”, passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2024 at the age of 76. He was born on August 10, 1948 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Stuart and Eva (Fuller) Thrall. He graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1966.
Rick proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and then attended Ferris State University. He was a man of many skills that he transitioned into a long career as a real estate investor and property developer. He was passionate about golf, boating, and reading. Rick is survived by his partner, Wanda Sharp; his children, Tara (Matthew) Saganski and Marci Thrall; his grandchildren, Layne, Etta, Lucas, and Logan; his brother, Tom (Reny) Thrall; and his beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sharon Smith.
Known for his laid-back attitude and generous spirit, Rick found joy on the golf course and especially being around his children and grandchildren.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held in Spring of 2025 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
Rick’s legacy of kindness and love will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
