Randall Paul Roberts, 96, of Valparaiso, Florida, passed away on January, 19, 2025. He was born on April 24, 1928, in Bonifay, FL, to John Anthony Roberts and Effie Sammon Charles Roberts.
A proud University of Florida graduate, he held his alma mater in high regard and remained an active alumnus. His service as a veteran reflected his commitment to his country. Professionally, his career at the Valparaiso State Bank began in 1952, with humble beginnings as a teller during the day and janitor at night. Through relentless hard work and determination, he retired as the role of bank president. Mr. Roberts was a developer and a founding member of Nugget Oil Inc. This man was a devoted community and civic leader, known for his lifelong involvement in Rotary and his unwavering dedication to service. He was also a passionate music lover, particularly fond of Dixieland jazz. His life reflects a powerful mix of service, dedication, and personal passions leaving a legacy of perseverance and devotion. Yet, at the heart of his life was a love for the beach and, most of all, his family. He was a devoted husband and father, always prioritizing time with his family. His grandchildren were the absolute light of his life, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. He created many special and fond memories with Randy and Calvin, who were the apple of his eye. He also looked forward to the yearly visits from his great-niece and great-nephew, Kathleen and Don. His love for his family was unwavering, and he always made time to nurture those important relationships ensuring that family remained at the heart of his life.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his sons, Keith R. Roberts and his wife, Teresa, and Scott Roberts; grandchildren, Randall P. Roberts, II., Calvin A. Roberts, and Shaun R. Roberts; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Florence Tuma Roberts; brothers, Charles Marion Roberts and John Ludlow Roberts; and sister, Frances Louisa Roberts Harder.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday, January 31, 2025, in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road, NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547, with interment following to Sunset Cemetery, Valparaiso, FL. The family will receive one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
