Peggy G. Grigg

Peggy G. Grigg, formerly of Freeport, Florida, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020. She was born March 24, 1935 to Reginal T. Guthrie and Nadie Howard Guthrie in Sampson County, North Carolina. 

Peggy's earliest years were spent on a tobacco farm where she learned the value of good morals and hard work from her parents. She always loved school and knew teaching was her calling. She graduated from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina obtaining both her Bachelor's and Master's degree in education and administration. She taught in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, and Alabama. She also worked as a claims representative for Social Security in Oklahoma and Texas. As a Christian, she loved bible study and openly proclaimed Jesus as Lord and Savior, knowing He is Creator, Provider, and Keeper in life here and hereafter. 

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2020, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, FL 32508.
