Paul Frank Scheffel

Paul F Scheffel, 98, passed away peacefully at his beach home in Miramar Beach, Florida on Saturday February 19, 2022. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ella Jane Russell Scheffel and his  parents, Carl H Scheffel and Elizabeth Oertel Scheffel along with both brothers, Harold and Richard.  Paul is survived by his daughter Carla (Kim) Koepke. He was very proud of his two grandsons Jonathan ( Beth) Koepke of Oswego,IL and Benjamin ( Megen Tripp) Koepke of Missoula, MT.  His great granddaughters, Olivia and Harper gave him much joy. Paul is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Paul was born and raised in Brighton, IL on January 20, 1924. He attended Blackburn College until serving in the US Navy during WWII. After the war and completing his studies at the University of Illinois, he worked at Illinois Bell Telephone Company as an electrical engineer for 35 years. His life was full of service to others through Jaycees, Masonic Lodge, Anzar Shriners, Elks Club, Pioneers and United Church of Christ.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends in New Lenox on July 21, 2022. His burial will be in Brighton IL on July 23, 2022 at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital (shrinerschildrens.org) or Emerald Coast Hospice (www.emeraldcoasthospice.org)
