Patrick Jon Rodgers, Retired Master Sergeant, age 62, passed away Wednesday April 26, 2023 at home with his loving wife by his side. He fiercely fought a long and courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.
Patrick was born September 14, 1960 in Santa Rosa, California to Charles and Linda Rodgers. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army as a military policeman then transferred to the U.S. Air Force as a security policeman. Patrick proudly served his country for twenty-two years. His awards include the prestigious Airman’s Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. He enjoyed all the bases he was stationed, especially Howard AFB Panama, Edwards AFB California and Hurlburt Field Florida.
At Hurlburt base gym, Patrick met his wife, Le Le, and they have been together over thirty years.
Earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, he then received his Master in Public Administration from Troy State University.
His passions were surfing, fishing, powerlifting and NFL football-go Raiders!
Patrick is survived by his wife, Le Le; his in-laws, Michael and Anh Le; brother-in-law, John Le (Lilly); sisters-in-law, Diana Le and Quyen Le, D Le (Loi); special nieces and nephews; step mother, Loretta Lemos; four half-brothers, who connected with him in 2019 after years of searching: Tony Rodgers, Mike Rodgers, Shawn Rodgers and Chuck Rodgers; very dear cousins, Nancy Holloway, Daryl Cope (Yvette) and Sean Cope.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Linda Rodgers.
A natural leader, Patrick's strength and wisdom brought out the best in those around him. He loved helping others and made a difference in many lives. His impact on family and friends will be felt for a long time. Patrick loved us and God with all his heart. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held in Patrick's honor at Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road NE, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, 32547 on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.
