It is with a heavy heart we share that our sweet Patti went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. She passed away peacefully at her home in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Patti was 75 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Rowland and Evelyn Woody (Rowland); grandparents, Milton and Lola Woody; grandparents, Lovie and Lois Rowland; and brother-in-law, Sidney Sanderlin.
Patti is survived by her daughter, Kelly, and her husband, Mike, along with their children (her precious grandchildren), Jordan and Cody Cox; sister, Beverly Sanderlin; nephew, Brandon, and his wife, Tiffany, with their children, Caleb and Amber Sanderlin; nephew, Jason Sanderlin; and niece, Christine Sanderlin, with her son, John Bruce; and many other loving friends and relatives that were special to her.
Patti was born on September 22, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia to her parents, Jack and Evelyn. She grew up in East Point, Georgia and attended Dodson Drive Elementary School and Headland High School, graduating in 1967. She and her family were members of Dogwood Hills First Baptist Church. At the age of nine in church one Sunday, Patti said she saw Jesus physically hold out his hand and call her to follow Him. She gave her life to the Lord and was baptized that day. She loved life, and was able to travel and experience job opportunities in Colorado, Miami and finally New Jersey, where she married and had her first and only child, Kelly. Soon after, she settled back in her home state of Georgia to be close to family.
Several years later, Patti married Ronnie Hamilton, and they made Fayetteville, Georgia their home. Together they brokered five top producing Century 21 offices in the Atlanta area. Kelly was into Quarter Horses, and Patti spent much of her free time enjoying the horses with her daughter. They were members of Fayetteville Christian Church. Patti and her sister, Beverly, have always been best friends and enjoyed raising their families together.
After her divorce from Ronnie, and needing a life change, Patti moved to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida in 1995. She has called this area home for the last 30 years. For much of this time, Patti has enjoyed her job as a retail sales manager for an upscale ladies’ clothing store in Seagrove Beach along 30a. She has always enjoyed living near the beach and has been blessed by the many special friends she has made in this area. Her greatest joy has been watching her grandchildren grow up, the closeness she’s always shared with her daughter and loving family, and walking with Jesus. Patti has been a member of Seagrove Baptist Church and is a testimony of faith to anyone who has known her. Although she has battled illness for several years, there was never a conversation where it wasn’t evident how much she loved God.
To know Patti was to love her. She was funny, loved people, was full of compassion, and the best prayer warrior anyone could ever have. She had a sweetness about her that was infectious, and a positive way of making everyone feel like everything would be alright, but at the same time an inner God-given strength that was bigger than life. She will be forever loved and missed, but we can find comfort in knowing she is now in the arms of Jesus.
A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held at Seagrove Baptist Church, located at 4915 East County Hwy 30a, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Gary Wiggins will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations in Patti's memory to Samaritan's Purse at https://www.samaritanspurse.org, which is a charity that she loved and supported.
