Patricia Malambri Obituary

Patricia Irene Malambri, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, at the age of 95.

Born on May 31, 1930, in Quincy, Illinois, to Tom and Ruby Thompson, Pat lived a vibrant, adventure-filled life. She met her future husband, Nick Malambri, at the tender age of six during First Communion classes—an early beginning to a lifelong love-story rooted in faith and deep connection. As the wife of an Air Force pilot, she moved frequently—so often that each of her six sons was born in a different part of the country. In 1974, she and her family settled in Shalimar, Florida, where she spent the rest of her life.

A woman of strong faith, Pat carried her beliefs with grace and quiet strength throughout her life. She achieved the highest rank of civil service and worked on various military bases across the country in support of Nick’s career, balancing her professional success with her deep devotion to family. Remarkably, after having six boys, she also pursued modeling—adding yet another chapter to a life lived with poise, energy, and fearless spirit.

Pat was fun-loving, outgoing, and the life of every gathering. She cherished time spent with family and friends and had a gift for making everyone feel at home. After Nick’s retirement, she and her husband embraced life on the water aboard their beloved boat, Dolce Vita. When not cruising, Pat poured her energy into her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A sharp card player, Pat could outplay just about anyone well into her later years. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and a sense of wonder—rooms of toys for visiting children, and a Christmas tree that stayed up all year long. She loved her evening scotch, a good movie, and telling stories of growing up in a more innocent time to anyone lucky enough to sit and listen.

After the passing of her beloved husband, Col. Nick Malambri, Pat found comfort and companionship in her dogs. Sissy, her first canine love, stole her heart and rarely left her side—even accompanying her to nail and hair appointments. Later, her dog, Benny, became her loyal companion until the very end.

Pat is survived by her five sons: Nick (Traci), Tim (fiancée, Cindy), Pat (Debbie), Mark (Magaly), and Frank (Betsy); her brother, Tim Thompson; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick; her son, Tony; and her brother, Tom.

Patricia’s legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, faith, and love. She lived life with joy, strength, elegance, and a deep devotion to those she held dear. Her memory will continue to bring smiles and stories for generations to come.
