Orlan Andrews

Orlan Lester “O.L.” Andrews, age 85, of Ponce de Leon, Florida passed away September 21, 2021 at his home. He was born February 12, 1936 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Mary Nell and Orlan Andrews, Sr. He was well known as “Yella Bird” in his 50 plus years of his truck driving career. He loved to watch his grandsons, Blake and Bradley, fish at Murphy Pond while sitting on a white bucket. He was an easy going man who saw good in everyone and was a faithful member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Nell and Orlan Andrews; brothers, Don, Max, Jackie and Roger Andrews; mother-in-law, Nelda Good; and son-in-law, Rodney Moore.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Good Andrews; son Bart Andrews (Wendy Ellis); step-grandsons, Codie Allen and Andrew Ellis; daughter, Renee Andrews (Keith Touchton); grandsons, Bradley and Blake Day; daughter, Tracy Moore; grandsons, Tyson and Travis Rauch; granddaughters, Tessa Rauch, Jessica Moore and Anna Moore; step-daughter, Donna Kraniewski (Rick); step-granddaughters, Lindsey Nelson and Kate Kraniewski; son, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Andrews and children; son, Mr. and Mrs. David Andrews and children; son, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Andrews and children; daughter, Sandra Andrews Baltzley and children; daughter, Sherrie Andrews Burgess, two sisters, Eleene Mayville (Joe) and Jeanette Nowling (William). He was also blessed with many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice for their loving care and compassion.

Flowers are being accepted or contributions to the Sandy Creek Baptist Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 128 Ponce de Leon, Florida, 32455.

A time of visitation will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021 in the chapel at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home beginning at 3 p.m. Committal services will follow at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
