Nathan Freeland, lovingly known as Big Nate, passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 19, doing something he loved - riding his motorcycle. Born on May 17, 2006, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Nathan lived a life full of heart, laughter, and determination.
A devoted son and loyal brother, Nate was the kind of person who made everyone around him feel safe, seen, and cared for. He was known for his big hugs, even bigger heart, and an appetite that never said no to a good snack.
Whether he was on the football field, lifting weights at the gym, or sharing a laugh with friends, Nathan brought a magnetic warmth and light that will never be forgotten.
He was passionate about motorcycles, football, competition, and chasing the next challenge. His life, though far too short, was full of energy, love, and the determination to be better every day.
He is survived by his father, Greg Freeland; his siblings, Olivia Alexandre, Lucas Freeland, and Jerrica Reed - all of whom will carry forward his memory with love, pride, and the same loving strength Nate showed throughout his life.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 403 Racetrack Road Northwest in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." - Matthew 5:8
Big Nate's story doesn't end here - it lives on in every life he touched, every memory made, and every heart still beating a little stronger because he was in it.
