Myrtle Lee Barnes McNabb

Myrtle Lee Barnes McNabb, age 90, of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida passed on the morning of October 24, 2019 at 11:20 a.m. at her residence, she responded to a call from her heavenly father and quickly took His hand to begin her new journey in a land free of sickness and pain.  Myrtle was a loving daughter, sister and grandmother.  She was born October 11, 1929 in Goshen, Alabama to Daisy Mae Barnes and Frank Garry.  She graduated from Luverne High School and attended Troy State College in Troy, Alabama and attended Bay Area Vocational School where she learned upholstery.   After moving to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, she worked at Silver Beach Hotel.  She loved reading and gardening.  Myrtle was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and later she began studying the bible with Jehovah Witnesses and was baptized for over 40 years. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Whamon Lee McNabb, Ft. Walton Beach, FL,  Alice Marie McNabb, Pensacola, FL,  Raymond Lewis Barnes, Crestview, FL,  Tony Vincent Barnes, Miami, FL,  and Vincent Edward Barnes, Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Shimiko McNabb, Colorado Springs, CO, Jamilah McNabb, Colorado Springs, CO, Jameeah Jenkins, Charleston, SC, Latesh McCray, Kennesaw, GA; great grandchildren, Xandria Grey, Colorado Springs, CO, Xavier Lopez, Colorado Springs, CO, Zylan Harley, St. Stephens, SC, Noias Harley, St. Stephens, SC. and a host of nieces and nephews. 

 Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Whymon McNabb and her brother, Cansie Barnes.

All services will take place at Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida 32547 beginning with a visitation on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.  The funeral service for Myrtle will be Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
