Mykayla Alexis Grimes

On December 7, 2024, Mykayla went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mykayla Alexis Grimes was born on June 9, 1998, to Donald L. Grimes and Patriece M. Grimes. Mykayla was a beautiful 11-pound ball of joy, and she was a lifelong resident of Fort Walton Beach Florida and a high school graduate of Choctawhatchee High School class of 2017. She was also a Choctawhatchee style marcher in which she took great pride. 

Upon graduating high school, Mykayla went to work at Winn-Dixie, and she truly enjoyed that job, because she was a social butterfly. Mykayla enjoyed greeting the customers when they came in the store. Everyone knew who she was, because of her bright, bubbly personality. Mykayla had a smile that would light up a room. Mykayla enjoyed meeting people and as a result she had many friends. 

Mykayla took great pride in being an aunt to her nieces and nephews; they referred to her as TiTi and boy did she spoil them rotten. Despite the struggles she faced in regard to her health, Mykayla always kept a smile on her face and never let her illnesses steal her joy.

Mykayla leaves to cherish her memory, her father Donald L. Grimes; mother, Patriece M. Grimes; sister, Bianca Grimes; and nephews, Karlo and Korbyn King and nieces, Kylee and Korynn King; along with a host of aunties, uncles, cousins and dear friends. 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Davis Watkins Funeral Home. One hour prior, the family will receive friends.
