Miriam Roman Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and in loving memory, we celebrate the beautiful life of Miriam Roman, who peacefully passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loved ones. Though our hearts ache, we also smile knowing how brightly she lived, how deeply she loved, and how selflessly she poured into others.

Born on November 7, 1943, in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Miriam was the daughter of Leonor Acevedo and Justo Rivera. She grew up with her siblings, Gladys, Raymond, and Michael, and carried her Puerto Rican upbringing with her throughout her life.

In 1961, Miriam married the love of her life, Neftaly, and from that moment on, the two were inseparable.Over the last 64 years, they built a home filled with family, music, happiness, and unwavering love. Together they raised three children, Linda (Robert), Lisa, and Eric (Simone), who will forever appreciate the lessons of not only hard work, strength, and perseverance, but lessons of devotion and affection their mother passed on to them.

Miriam’s joy was rooted in her ever-growing family. As a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, proud grandmother of ten, and grateful great-grandmother of twenty-five, she filled every role with grace and warmth. Predeceased by her parents and her brother, Michael, she leaves behind a family who will keep her stories, traditions, and beautiful spirit alive.

To those who knew Miriam, remember her gentle nature, her sweet smile, and her gift for making everyone feel like a part of the family. Remember how she had a way of turning ordinary days into cherished memories, and how her compassion for everyone touched countless hearts.

Miriam’s legacy will live on in all of our hearts. Those who knew her and were blessed to experience her love know that our hearts will echo with the joy she instilled in us. May her beautiful memory illuminate our darkest days, quiet our minds late in the night, fuel our need for laughter and togetherness, and comfort our full yet aching hearts. Although she will be greatly missed by those who knew her, her legacy will be defined by the kindness and care she extended to others. A kind of love that is ever present and everlasting.
